THE MEMBERS OF GOSFORD COMMUNITY MENS SHED EXTEND TO ALL ,THE COMPLIMENTS OF THE SEASON AND WISH YOU ALL A VERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HEALTHY, HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.

THE SHED WILL BE CLOSING ON FRIDAY 21ST DECEMBER 2012 AND REOPENING BRIGHT AND EARLY ON FRIDAY 4TH JANUARY 2013.

Lectern For Kariong Neighbourhood Centre

We were approached by Jean Lawrie who asked if it was possible for us to make a Lectern for the Kariong Neighbourhood Centre.
Tony Stoker and Colin Faithfull set to work and a week later we informed Jean that it was finished.
Today we presented the Manager of the Centre, Fiona Simpson with the Lectern.
We had Morning Tea and were given a Tour of the facility.
It is a credit to Fiona and her Staff for the excellent venue which offers so much to the people of Kariong and surrounding district.

PRIME MINISTER VISITS SHED

On Friday 2nd November 2012 the Prime Minister Julia Gillard accompanied by the Member for Robertson Deborah O'Neill MP paid a visit to our shed.
It was a memorable occasion for our members.

RAY FRANKS UPDATE

Ray has been transferred to Gosford Public Hospital.
I visited him today, he is recovering  slowly from his ordeal.
He is no longer having dialysis as his kidney has kicked back in , this is good news.
Ray is anxious to get home, however, this won't be for quite some time yet.
Ray needs our support to help him get back on his feet.
Visiting Hours are from 11am to 1pm and 2.30pm to 8pm.
Medical 1 Room 10 Bed 22.

RAY FRANKS UPDATE

Ray is now on the mend. He is sitting up and starting to talk. The tubes have been removed from his throat and he is bored and wants to come home. He dislikes the Hospital food. This is a good sign. However he is still in ICU and unable to have visitors.
Will keep you informed of Rays progress.

RAY FRANKS UPDATE

Good News, Ray is sitting up watching TV.
He still cannot speak due to the numerous tubes down his throat but is beginning to respond although he is not completely back with us yet. He will be in ICU for a while yet and still unable to have visitors other than immediate Family.

TODAY, RAY OPENED HIS EYES AND RESPONDED TO QUESTIONS BY HAND SQUEEZING.
HIS KIDNEY HAS KICKED BACK IN.
HE IS SHOWING POSITIVE SIGNS OF IMPROVEMENT.

SHED CLOSED FRIDAY 31st AUGUST 2012

DUE TO THE INSTALLATION OF THE DRIVEWAY GATES. THERE WILL BE NO ACCESS TO THE SHED ON FRIDAY 31st AUGUST.

RAY FRANKS UPDATE

Ray is still in ICU , he is still unconscious and has been placed on dialysis as his kidney is not working.

We can only pray that this outstanding Man who has contributed so much to the Gosford Men's Shed and the Community and supported us in his role as Welfare Officer, will recover from this illness and be back in the Shed soon.

Ray Franks Update

Ray is still in Intensive Care following his 4.5 hr Heart Operation.
He is starting to respond, however will remain in ICU for a while yet.

MEMBER RAY FRANKS ILLNESS

JUST A NOTE TO LET FELLOW SHEDDERS KNOW THAT RAY FRANKS WAS FLOWN TO RNSH ON SATURDAY 18.8.12.
RAY SUFFERED A TORN AORTIC VALVE AND UNDERWENT MAJOR HEART SURGERY WHICH LASTED 4.5 HOURS. RAY IS NOW IN INTENSIVE CARE.

AFTER 7 MONTHS, THE DRIVEWAY ACCESS IS NOW OPEN TO VEHICLES, SO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DROP IN ON MONDAYS AND FRIDAYS.

GOSFORD COMMUNITY MENS SHED WILL REOPEN ON MONDAY 21st MAY 2012. 
AT THIS STAGE ONLY HALF OF THE DRIVEWAY HAS BEEN CONCRETED. 
THERE IS STILL NO MOTOR VEHICLE ACCESS OR PARKING AVAILABLE.
ACCESS TO THE SHED IS VIA A PATHWAY ALONGSIDE THE CONSTRUCTION SITE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND UNDERSTANDING OVER THE PAST 4 MONTHS.

SHED UPDATE

Work on the Front Building is progressing slowly.
We still have no vehicle access which means that those with disabilities are unable to traverse the pathway down to the shed. Despite this inconvenience, a number of members are still turning up on Mondays and Fridays . When the new driveway has been poured and we have full access once again, I will advise via this Blog. Watch this space.
